HD-WAV is not an official, precisely defined standard, but rather a marketing or generic term. It generally refers to a high-resolution WAV audio file. 

What does this mean in concrete terms? 

- WAV = uncompressed audio format (very good quality)  

- HD = "high definition," meaning higher quality than CD standard
