MP3 - COMPRESSION FOR SMALL FILES
A good MP3 is about 80% smaller compared to a WAV file. This is achieved with a reduction in audio quality. The trick is that - at least in theory - only those parts of the audio file that are inaudible are re-moved. This is also true for lar-ger data rates (which are still much smaller than a WAV). The smaller the files get, the more audible the compression becomes
WAV FILES - BEST QUALITY AND HIGH DATA RATES WAV files are large files that are saved without any compression. And thus no loss whatsoever when exporting. On the other hand, they can be between 5mb and 15mb per minute. It is generally a good idea to always work in AV format first and only convert the audio files into smaller (lossy) formats as a last step.
